Glyph Inspector

View and inspect every single character, symbol, and icon (glyph) included within a specific font file.

About This Tool

A font file is more than just A-Z; it's a collection of hundreds or even thousands of individual drawings called glyphs. This tool lets you look under the hood of any Google Font and see its entire character set, including punctuation, symbols, accented letters, and more. It's useful for discovering all the capabilities of a typeface.

How to Use

  1. Select a font family from the dropdown menu.
  2. The grid will populate with all the standard glyphs contained within that font.
  3. The font is loaded dynamically, so the grid's appearance will change to match your selection.
  4. Hover over a glyph to see its Unicode value.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why don't I see thousands of glyphs?

For performance reasons, this tool previews the most common character ranges (Basic Latin, Latin-1 Supplement). A font may contain many more glyphs in other subsets (like Cyrillic), which you can discover using the Language Support Finder tool.

What is a 'glyph'?

A glyph is the specific visual representation of a character. For example, 'A', 'a', and 'É‘' are all different glyphs for the same underlying letter.
